**Director, San Diego Coalition Against Antisemitism**

**BACKGROUND**

Jewish Federation of San Diego (Federation) is looking for a strategic professional with a strong history of building relationships, coalition building, consensus building, public relations, and strategic planning to support, elevate, and align existing efforts to address antisemitism, and to develop and organize community-wide responses when appropriate.

**JOB SUMMARY**

The San Diego Coalition Against Antisemitism is a newly established entity that will expand and strengthen the activities of Federation’s existing Antisemitism Roundtable by identifying and facilitating areas of coordination and collaboration among Jewish organizations and individuals currently working to combat antisemitism. The Coalition seeks to combat antisemitic incidents and rhetoric through relationship building, incentivizing collaboration, education, and advocacy. Utilizing a model of shared leadership, the Coalition is seeking to build on, connect, and amplify the work of existing organizations and create new connections.

The Coalition Director will lead the coordination of efforts among Jewish organizations to respond to and proactively prevent antisemitism. The Director will be responsible for identifying gaps, increasing organizational coordination in San Diego around PR, advocacy, allyship, education, and will support and promote existing organizations with expertise in this area. The Coalition Advisory Board will be comprised of a Chair, representatives of designated organizations, as well as lay leaders who will provide advice, guidance, and support for Coalition direction and the accomplishment of stated objectives.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Facilitate the development and implementation of a coordinated, comprehensive approach to strengthening our community’s response to antisemitism including protocols, procedures, and tools to help guide our community’s real-time reactions.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of current resources and approaches to combat antisemitism and create mechanisms to discover and share information about incidents of antisemitism.
- Oversee regular convening of Coalition members to strategize and coordinate responses to antisemitic incidents, initiatives, and vulnerabilities, including with public statements, PR initiatives, and other constructive actions.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration, give direction, and set guidelines for quick action.
- Serve as a central point of contact for Coalition members, fostering communication and collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans to address antisemitic incidents and events, including crisis management and proactive PR efforts.
- Identify, recruit, and engage Jewish and non-Jewish allies to work with the Coalition to and speak out against antisemitism alongside the Jewish community.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to amplify the Coalition's impact.

**-**Work with Coalition members to identify and advocate for policies and initiatives that combat antisemitism and promote tolerance and inclusion in the community.

**EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS**
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in community organizing, advocacy, or related fields, with a focus on combating antisemitism, discrimination, and promoting social justice preferred.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, give direction, and drive action.
- Strong understanding of antisemitism, its historical context, and contemporary manifestations.
- Demonstrated ability to build coalitions, navigate complex situations diplomatically, and drive consensus among stakeholders.
- Experience in strategic communications, crisis management, and media relations preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in building and activating coalitions and grassroots involvement in community relations or public affairs.
- Aware of the range of Jewish community organizations, especially those that are active in or concerned about community relations.
