Manufacturing Operator

This role will be located at our Lovett facility in Elkton, Maryland.
Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

**Responsibilities**:
- Learn, support, practice the Gore culture
- Follow and advocate safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment
- Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment with a focus on producing quality products and achieving team production goals
- Interact and connect with a cross functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new product development engineers
- Make informed product quality decisions based on product documentation
- Understand our quality systems to ensure that processes, while providing suggestions for improvement
- Utilize our quality systems to ensure that processes consistently deliver products that meet customer needs and expectations
- Identify and actively participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Become cross-trained to inspect select materials
**Required Qualifications**:
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience performing preventative maintenance on complex equipment
- Attentiveness to detail, good documentation and record keeping skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to identify, conceptualize, and solve problems
- Ability to follow and advocate safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment
- Adapt to changes in production schedule and shift to other manufacturing areas on short notice
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternate between shifts to meet business needs, sometimes with short notice
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to lift 35 pounds several times over an 8-hour period, stand for most of the shift, and climb steps as needed, while wearing a headset
**Desired Qualifications**:
- A minimum of 3 years prior experience operating complex manufacturing equipment
- PTFE manipulation and/or ePTFE coating or lamination experience
- Experience operating powered industrial vehicles (fork trucks, pallet jacks, etc.)
