Endemic Environmental Services, Inc is seeking to fill a Biological Project Manager

position in Orange County, CA. Responsibilities for Biological Project Manager include:
**Job Requirements (mandatory)**:

- Degree in biology, natural resource management, environmental studies or similar
- 4+ years of experience as a professional biologist, including a minimum of one year of experience with an environmental consulting firm.
- Broad experience in varied habitats across southern California
- Demonstration of past/current success in supervising employees
- Experience monitoring bird nests or other specific taxa biological survey experience
- Willing to walk on a variety of uneven surfaces and slopes
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Willing to work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Valid Driver’s License, Reliable Personal Vehicle, and Vehicle Insurance

**Preferred Experience**:

- Experience with FESA, CESA, CEQA/NEPA, CRAM, wetland delineations, permitting
- Manage work assignments with team members, troubleshoot in the field
- Experience nesting bird surveys
- Plant and plant community identification skills for species common to California
- Experience working with construction/utility companies
- Species specific federal and state permits and survey experience with any of the following species: California gnatcatcher, southwestern willow flycatcher, Ridgway’s rail, and yellow billed cuckoo, Burrowing Owl, Kit Fox, rare plants, or other listed species.
- Strong technical report writing skills
- Prior experience working in California, Utah, Arizona, or Nevada

The Project Manager’s role will be to ensure excellent project execution. The project

manager will be responsible for delegating and overseeing workflow and managing

biologist peers and junior staff. The project manager will directly supervise and mentor

the professional development, training, and development of direct reports. The project

manager will be Endemic’s primary point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies

ensure client compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and

regulations while maintaining effective and professional relationships. The project

manager will provide technical direction to staff and subcontractors or coordinate with

other permitted biologists to conduct appropriate surveys. The project manager will be

responsible for the QA/QC of technical reports as well as project billing and budgets. In

addition, the project manager will support the Endemic’s business development and

team growth. The project manager will be based out of the Fullerton office. The project

manager may have to conduct focused biological surveys in the surrounding area such

as Orange, Riverside, San Bernadino, San Diego counties and travel further afield if

required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct focused wildlife surveys; documenting occurrence and distribution of identified species; and technical reporting for rare and endangered species
- Ensure client compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations
- Prepare high quality reports and environmental documents such as Biological Resource Assessments
- Regularly interacting with clients and effectively communicate data collection methods and results to varied audiences that include clients and regulators
- Delegate job tasks and oversee workflow and successful project execution, working directly with their peers and junior staff
- Coordinate and track assignments, scopes, schedules budgets and deliverables
- Recruit, mentor, and support the professional development of staff and participating in business development
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
- Travel for out-of-town projects as needed

Work Location: Field sites in multiple locations across, Orange County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, San Diego County, and Los Angeles County

Hours can include night work and weekends
