Kitchen Utility Worker

**Responsibilities**:

- Cleans and sanitizes glassware, china, flatware, production equipment, work surfaces, pots and pans, and performs cleaning tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef or according to established cleaning schedules and procedures
- Keeps the dishwashing machine in working order and changes the water every two hours. Reports any malfunctions to the Executive Chef
- Distributes and stores clean pots, pans, glassware, china, utensils, kitchen equipment, etc.
- Sets up the dish and pot washing area
- Empties trash, boxes and soiled linen containers as required
- Performs daily logs for temperature and chemical PPM to ensure dishes are clean and sanitized
- Assists with kitchen operations when required

**Experience**:

- Ability and willingness to obtain Food Handler certification
- Ability to learn Food Safety and Sanitation practices and regulations
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

- Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day
- Ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently in small tight areas
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and hold up to 60 pounds
- Must have a command and proficiency of the English language
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures from the ovens and freezers
- May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals, offensive odors, and communicable diseases including but not limited to HIV and hepatitis B virus
