Many of our faculty members are known for their contributions to the advancement of groundbreaking surgical procedures and techniques, including mínimally invasive surgery. Job Summary

In collaboration with the Department of Surgery’s Program Directors and Education Manager, the Assistant Manager of Surgery Education, manages the Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery Residency program and Otology and Reconstructive Surgery fellowships. Responsible for accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation, recruitment, Match process, and orientation. Supports the recruitment and onboarding efforts of new team members. Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies.

**Responsibilities**:
- Functions as a liaison between residents, departments, faculty, administration, and outside institutions.- Independently communicates to outside organizations, including but not limited to ACGME and GME, in regards to complex regulatory matters.- Monitors and maintains program compliance, including MedHub and ACGME ADS management.- Conducts and records mid-year and year-end evaluations with trainees.- Researches, compiles, and analyzes data concerning program performance and submits proposals and presentations for program changes, expansions, and improvements.- Develops and monitors program budgets and processes reimbursements for trainees.-
- Prepares and maintains letters of agreement and malpractice extensions for off-site rotations.- Oversees onboarding and departure process, including completing paperwork and collecting University and UCM property from all departing residents and fellows.- Manages Education meetings, didactics, and events for the Section and Department.- Attends internal GME meetings and external development opportunities when available.- Provides cross-coverage for other Department of Surgery training programs when appropriate.- Supports the recruitment process, onboarding, and training of new Education Specialist hires.- Provides mentorship to current Education Specialists and takes on leadership roles in team efforts.- Participates in Departmental Education strategy initiatives as relevant.- Maintains program web pages and social media.- Maintains team resource folders, archives, and program handbooks.- Guides day-to-day operations of accredited and non-accredited residency and fellowship training programs and ensures compliance with organizations such as the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and Residency Review Committees (RRC).- Manages requirements of the training program, including accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation process, resident/fellowship recruitment, Match process, orientation and employees relations.- Reports and ensures compliance with procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.- Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

**Education**:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
- Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.

**Experience**:
- Training and mentorship experience.- Experience in an academic medical center.
