**SUMMARY**

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator assists the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Marketing & Communications team in elevating and amplifying Children’s Institute’s (CII) public facing message to community, donors, press, and volunteers, ensuring consistent tone and language as well as supporting the implementation of strategies that inform and enhance the employee culture across the agency.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**

- Ensures the CII website is up to date (including content translation to Spanish), and that content is maximizing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.
- Supports content creation for social media, the website, monthly newsletters, collateral, direct mail, ads, press releases, etc.
- Designs ads and collateral independently or works collaboratively with a graphic designer.
- Designs event related materials including invitations, signage, mailers, and brochures.
- Researches new marketing opportunities and presents to the marketing team.
- Maintains marketing calendars and organizes and manages CII’s marketing assets (photo & video library, collateral inventory, etc.).
- Prepares reports on marketing campaigns and assists with presentations for the marketing team.
- Participates in the brainstorming, development and execution of marketing initiatives.
- Provides administrative support and assistance as needed.

**ADDITIONAL DUTIES**
- Maintains working knowledge of current writing, editing, publications, and marketing practices and trends in the nonprofit sector through reading, research, participation in seminars and other educational opportunities and personal contacts/memberships in the field; recommends new/updated communications strategies as appropriate to CII.
- Develops and maintains related informational files such as media contacts, clipping database, photo and historical archives.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES**

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related required.
- 1+ years of experience working in an administrative or communications role.
- Experience with Google Analytics, WordPress, and social media monitoring tools.
- Experience with the following online software preferred: Asana, Eventbrite, Mailchimp and SurveyMonkey.
- Demonstrated experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite-In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop.

**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
- Valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.
- May require some travel.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Project management and strong editing skills required.
- Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.
- Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities
- Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
- Understands CII’s basic philosophy and participates fully in carrying out its mission.

**COMPENSATION**:

- Hourly hire rate: $29.96
- In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
