- As the Account Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for the daily processing of financial transactions while working as part of the diverse and cross-functional accounting team. **LOCATION**
- Position is based in Scottsdale, Arizona

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to drive timely and accurate accounts payable processing.
- Maintains recurring invoice and payment schedules, including monthly rent payments, owners’ compensation, and debt obligations.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Reconciles vendor invoice activity to monthly vendor statements.
- Prepares routine payment batches, including obtaining appropriate payment approvals.
- Maintains vendor ACH payment templates on the bank website.
- Initiates weekly wire and ACH payments.
- Obtains W9 documentation for new vendors, verifying the accuracy of tax identification numbers.
- Supports year-end audit requests and tax filing requirements.
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
- Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- This position is primarily office-based, with opportunities for remote work as deemed appropriate. Regular collaboration with the Finance and other departments is expected.

**REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**
- Associate degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in accounting, finance, or related roles is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record management.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct and/or previous ERP experience is a plus but not required.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to sit for extended periods, working at a computer or desk.
- Capacity to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Capability to attend and lead meetings, events, and presentations.
- Mobility to move around the office or other work locations as needed.
- Manual dexterity to use office equipment and perform necessary job functions.
- Visual acuity to read and analyze documents and reports.
- Auditory ability to listen and interact during discussions and meetings.
- The ability to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. may be necessary.
- The position requires travel, including by aircraft and motor vehicle.
