**Gardening Services Team Leader**

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise the daily work of 2-4 person crews in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure proper safety training and safety practices (vehicle, equipment, and PPE).
- Manage weekly crew schedules, time clocks, and payroll.
- Assist Gardening Services crews as needed, performing routine horticultural tasks, including planting, watering, pruning, weeding, edging, and mulching, using hand and gardening tools.
- Maintain landscaping trucks, tools, and equipment in good condition to ensure that needed items are present and trucks are in proper working order for daily work.
- Collaborate with other Team Leaders to plan and implement projects throughout the year.
- Maintain communication with the Gardening Services Manager, other Team Leaders, Head Gardeners, and Gardening Services crews, to ensure timely and efficient operations.
- Maintain staff focus on achievement of department goals throughout the year.
- Understand client needs, service contracts, and budgets; ensure that work is completed according to contract.
- Maintain professional communication with assigned clients.
- Maintain job budgets and perform job-related administrative duties.
- One to three years of supervisory experience in landscaping or a related industry
- Ability and desire to work in outdoor conditions and office setting
- A high level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Virginia Pesticide License and VNLA Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- Valid Virginia driver’s license

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Experience**:

- Gardening: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

- Driver's License (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Charlottesville, VA 22911 (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Charlottesville, VA 22911: Relocate before starting work (required)
