**Head Gardener**

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate basic understanding of common landscape plant material including annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs.
- Identify and maintain plant material in zones 6-7.
- Manage gardening crews to complete daily horticultural tasks, including planting, watering, pruning, and fertilizing, using hand and gardening tools.
- Operate basic landscaping tools, including blowers, pruners, spades, and hoses.
- Inspect plants to assess quality and health and to identify signs of disease or pests.
- Maintain landscaping trucks, tools, and equipment in good condition to ensure that needed items are present and trucks are in proper working order for daily work.
- Ability to work from 7am-5:30pm (Monday to Friday)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability and desire to work in outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Valid Virginia driver's license

- Yes

Pay Frequency:

- Every other week

Typical start time:

- 7am

Typical end time:

- 5pm

The Job Is:

- Open to applicants who do not have a college diploma

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
