Shop Hand Helper

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for a **Shop Hand Helper** for our **Channelview, TX** location**.** In this role, you will support our yard on day-to-day operations, assist our shop mechanic and run parts for projects and yard.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Actively participate in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) meetings
- Clean up work areas
- Perform general labor
- Assist yard staff and perform other work-related tasks as assigned
- Handle various types of materials
- Move parts within the yard
- Parts running for projects and yard
- Assisting shop mechanic

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools
- Proven commitment to Safety
- Work in an organized manner
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Minimum age 18+
