Integrity Staffing has exciting new opportunities for Shipyard Sandblaster/Painters in the Houston, TX area
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • The labor/helper performs tasks involving physical labor at work sites. The position is mainly responsible for performing sandblast & paint functions. 
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Sandblast barge & boat repair areas, internal compartments & cargo tanks, and external surface areas, and clean/remove blasting material residue from those surfaces in preparation for painting.
  • Paint barge & boat repair areas, internal compartments & cargo tanks, external surface areas, and specialty components & areas with the required number of coats and coverage.
  • Coat barge internal cargo tanks & voids with the required number of coats and coverage.
  • Operate equipment, vacuum pumps, air pumps, compressors, blowers, meters, hoses, etc., to accomplish sandblast & paint duties.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Adequate experience in barge sandblasting, painting, and equipment operations.
  • Be able to perform simple paperwork as required for filling out forms and logs.
  • Mandatory drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol tests during employment.
  • Must be able to communicate and take directions from Foreman & Supervisor.
  • Able to work without contact lenses.
  • Required to arrive at work on time and work overtime hours as required.
  • Understand general policies and procedures as described in the quality & environmental manuals.
  • Required to undergo a training program and participate in refresher training as needed.

Physical/ Mental Requirements:
  • The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. 
  • The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and regularly works in outside weather conditions.
  • The individual must properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit areas where it is required. 
  • This includes a hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFDs), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and the location where the work is being conducted.
In addition, Labors/Helpers must also be capable of the following:
  • Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.
  • Accessing and exiting machines safely.
  • Standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back in the performance of work.
  • Climbing vertical ladders of a height of 6ft or greater.
  • Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of objects and the ability to lift and carry in excess of 120 lbs. with assistance.
  • Adapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration.
