**The Anti-Drug & Alcohol Crusaders, Inc. (ADAC) is a non-profit organization that has been in operation for 37 years delivering violence prevention and substance misuse education, recreational activities, and support services to youth and families residing in Philadelphia.**
**Position Overview**:
The Community Coalition Mobilizer/Coordinator is responsible for building a community coalition that will address violence, substance misuse, and the social-emotional development of young people and promote healthy youth development, as well as advocate for positive changes in the West and Southwest Philadelphia community using the Communities that Care model.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.
- Work with EPIS Technical Assistance (TA) team to create and maintain a community prevention board. Facilitate recruitment of community prevention board members and ensure that composition of board includes appropriate community agencies, entities, and individuals that are representative of the community your coalition supports.
- Arrange coalition building training and workshops for community prevention board members.
- Facilitate delegation of community prevention board tasks, including but not limited to collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; community outreach and public relations; and board meetings. Lead discussions related to project planning and maintenance.
- Work with community prevention board members, members of the larger community and EPIS TA team to develop and implement a comprehensive community prevention plan.
- Work with Intervention Specialists to establish systems for the community prevention board to monitor the implementation of selected interventions.
- Oversee implementation of the preventive interventions selected by the community prevention board.
- Coordinate efforts to solve local problems and assist in implementing solutions.
- Coordinate dissemination of coalition information to key leaders, schools, and other youth service providers and the public.
- Represent coalition to the larger community, serving as the primary community contact for coalition activities and community events.
- Make presentations and train community board members for community outreach.
- Write grant proposals, reports, concept papers, and other materials needed to obtain continued/increased funding.
- Perform fundraising activities to obtain funding for supporting coalition activities.
- Develop and manage the coalition’s budget.
- Assist the Lead Staff in the overall planning, implementation, and advancement of program objectives.
- Supervise interns, volunteers, and youth workers.
- Other duties within reason may be added as deemed necessary by the Executive Director, EPIS, and grantor to ensure quality services.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in studies related to sociology, psychology, education, behavioral health, or human services with at least three years’ related experience; or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to form relationships with strategic partners, e.g., government agencies, nonprofit agencies, schools, businesses, and faith-based communities.
- Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and professionally in public to a variety of audiences.
- Must possess strong group facilitation skills and experience.
- Must possess professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct letters, reports, and other forms of communications.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and take the lead in solving problems.
- Must be self-directed, as well as a team player.
- Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Local and occasional out-of-county travel required for Regional Meetings and training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
- Ability to work with database programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, some evenings and weekends required.
- Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI clearances will be needed.
- Valid driver's license, car, and proof of current insurance policy for local travel to schools, agencies, community events, meetings, and training.
**Preferred**:
- Ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Experience in project management and/or strategic planning such as program development, developing and evaluating outcomes, conducting data analysis and evaluation, developing operations and marketing plans, and developing timelines.
- Understanding/working knowledge of youth-serving systems and agencies. Ability to work with youth boards and representatives.
- Familiarity with the local community; experience with prevention efforts in this community.
- Understanding of how to work with traditional media outlets and how to engage communities through social media platforms.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
