**Description**:
**OVERVIEW**:
**BASIC FUNCTION**:
The Program Manager, Teaching and Learning, will coordinate and manage special projects within the assigned department, including academic and behavioral interventions and supports; facilitate cross-departmental functions, communication, and collaboration to support effective implementation of key instructional initiatives leading to college and career readiness for all students.

In support of the Sexual Health Education department, the duties will include;
- Writing and submitting Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)/federal grant management documentation and reports on a regular basis, including work plans with S.M.A.R.T. objectives, budget narratives, project narratives, data-driven progress reports, site-based implementation data, and federal financial reports.
- Collaborating with Evaluation Consultant to create and implement data collection tools, managing communication and data collection efforts with staff, reviewing and analyzing data, and reporting and communicating data via infographics, online methodologies, and meetings with key stakeholders.
- Managing implementation of district-wide surveys for students and staff, including training staff, coordinating survey implementation, managing all communications and data collection, and following all federally required steps for data submission. Overseeing creation, implementation, and payment of numerous contracts with service providers and vendors, including writing scopes of work, outlining budgetary requirements and fee schedules, and managing payment of invoices.

- Working Location is based out of the **Sexual Health Education Department - 4100 Normal Street**, San Diego, CA 92103**:

- Scheduled for **12 months / 248** days** per year

Program Manager, Teaching and Learning (assigned to support Sexual Health Education), will be paid on the **AASD Certificated **Supervisors** **Salary Schedule, Plan 0708. **Salary Grade: 030.**

- Coordinate and manage special projects within the assigned department, including academic and behavioral interventions and supports; facilitate cross-departmental functions, communication, and collaboration to support effective implementation of key instructional initiatives leading to college and career readiness for all students. - Collaborate with all departments within the Instructional Branch to support and facilitate implementation of Common Core State Standards, Curriculum Development and alignment, and Professional Development; develop and align assessments, and communicate and engage with staff and parents. E
- Coordinate and manage district initiatives for evidence-based academics and behavior intervention and support, research and develop guidance documents and tools; vet materials and resources; coordinate and meet with vendors; draft or review proposals; assist in development of contracts; coordinate implementation and professional development; monitor and review data to determine effectiveness. E
- Develop, review and monitor policies, procedures, and programs related to teaching and learning; provide analysis and advice regarding strengths as well as trends or issues and recommend appropriate action for improvement or correction. E
- Represent the department on district committees, work teams, and parent and community committees. E
- Represent the district at national, state, and local meetings and conferences. E
- Review and analyze legislation and pending legislation related to Teaching and Learning and assist in drafting recommended district responses in support, opposition, or modification of legislation. E
- Provide expertise, information, and support to district managers, Area Superintendents, principals, and staff. E
- Facilitate effective communications between other district offices, school principals, staff, parents, and other stakeholders. E
- Identify grant opportunities; develop and write grant proposals to support teaching and learning. E
- Assist in determining and developing priorities, and related budget development and management. E
- Develop and prepare related reports, plans, and presentations; including Board Reports, and State and Federal required plans and reports. E
