**DESCRIPTION**:
The California Reading & Literature Project (CRLP) provides transformative professional learning in Reading/Literacy. The professional learning centers educators as learners and leaders to ensure that every California student receives high-quality, rigorous, comprehensive literacy instruction that is responsive to their identities, assets, and needs. CRLP intends that all California students complete high school as broadly literate individuals prepared for success in higher education, the work force, and civic life in the 21st century.

The Statewide Office and the San Diego Regional Office, housed at UC San Diego collaborate with partnership districts to support and sustain continuous improvement to PreK-12 teachers, including the implementation of State Board adopted instructional materials.

The CRLP Professional Learning Coordinator position provides lead direction, designing, implementation and independently provides a high degree and expertise in literacy instruction to the LCRSET Project for the CRLP Statewide Office, Executive Director, and the CRLP regional sites in the context of the California Subject Matter Project (CSMP) model and mission. In coordination with the Executive Director and Statewide Office staff, independently leads and manages tasks with LCRSET project coordination for a variety of statewide initiatives, signature program management and development, statewide network development.. Provides lead direction and independently managing literacy instruction programs for the CRLP Executive Director in designing and implementing quality professional development with LCRSET project as well as manage CRLP signature programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources for California PK-12 partner school districts, County Offices of Education, and stakeholders.

Major responsibilities include independently designing, planning, and administering statewide events for the LCRSET professional learning institutes, workshop series, and conferences. Leading and independently guiding PK-12 educators on CRLP's LCRSET organizational policy and program development. Incumbent will lead, establishes, manages and maintains a high liaison with local, county, and state education agencies and stakeholders and is significantly involved in the LCRSET CRLP committees regarding projects and the delivering of the CRLP signature programs; Results Word Recognition and Fluency, Results Reading Comprehension and Learning How English Works signature programs. Incumbent will travels to various stakeholder, leadership and County Office of Education leadership meetings throughout California to meet with LCRSET liaisons and independently prep, plan, strategize, design and administer the structure for the CRLP LCRSET Professional Development Program Institutes.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Prior and/or Current experience as a credentialed classroom teacher, administrator, manager of academic/research project, or equivalent applicable experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of educational reform in urban schooling.
- Must be bi-lingual. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Must possess a California K-12 teaching credential and have extensive elementary/primary/secondary classroom teaching experience. Must be willing and able to travel.
- Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, CANVAS).
- Advanced analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas of public educational programs.
- Advanced knowledge of accredited and / or certificate program instruction and delivery methodologies, the organization, market and business strategies.
