Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in an applicable field of mathematics from an accredited college or university
- Current or eligible for teacher licensure in Mathematics, preferably in MA, required
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process and expertise in the specific content areas
- Classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience working with challenge groups in a standards-based environment, including utilizing assessments to place students, flexible pacing, flexible instruction, grouping and regrouping, acceleration, enrichment, and independent study to meet student needs
- Demonstrated success in effectively solving challenging problems through a positive, collaborative approach
- Bilingual English/Spanish desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, community, and other school community staff

BACPS is seeking dynamic, talented, and dedicated history teachers to join the Baystate community. Teachers will serve as the primary teacher in history, collaborate with grade-level teams to implement an inquiry-based, standards-based curriculum, and serve as Crew Leaders to a crew (the group of students.) Teachers will participate in continuous assessment of students including ongoing targeted feedback, student-led conferences, and end-of-unit exhibitions. Teachers will collaborate with the school principal, dean of students, and curriculum coach in designing project-based expeditions as well as family workshops and events, and be responsible for implementing and integrating new policies and services that support the school’s mission and instructional objectives.
