Accounts Payable Specialist

Yamaha Guitar Group is a leading manufacturer of electric guitar and bass products, consisting of the “Line 6”, “Ampeg”, “Cordoba” & “Guild” brand. We are looking for a motivated and highly technical **AP Specialist **to join the team

**This Role will be hybrid based from our Calabasas office and the applicant must live close enough to commute on a weekly basis.**

**We expect this temporary position to be 30 hours/week with a possibility to become full time.**

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Verify and enter Domestic & International vendor invoices into our accounting systems while following company’s Internal control policy and Invoice Approval matrix.
- Process various financial documents for payment, including check requests, expense reports, invoices, and credit card statements.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to invoices.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including recording accounts payable accruals.
- Process payments (checks, wires, or ACH) to vendors on a weekly basis.
- Manage the W-9 setup and completion process for new vendors to ensure proper tax withholding.
- Organize and maintain accurate internal accounts payable records.
- Provide support to other accounting departments as needed.

**What you Bring to the table**

**Experience/Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, or a minimum of two years of college-level accounting courses with equivalent experience in accounts payable or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including general ledger, accounts payable, and month-end closing procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) for data entry, record keeping, and reporting.
- SAP knowledge (especially in the accounts payable module) a plus.
- Experience with processing month-end accruals.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with vendors and colleagues.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Eager to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
