Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a PACU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. This is a critical role that requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Duties**:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels
- Assess patients' pain levels and administer appropriate pain management interventions
- Monitor patients' airways and provide airway management as needed
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with patient transfers to and from the PACU
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition from the operating room to the PACU
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery
- Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in medical records
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- ACLS and PALS required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in a PACU or similar setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
