**Job Summary and Qualifications**:
**What qualifications you will need**:
- High School Graduate / GED.
- Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician school.
- Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Central Sterile experience required.
**Responsibilities**
- As a Central Sterile Technician, you will disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize, and store procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique under direct supervision
- In addition, you will complete requests to dispense equipment and supplies and maintaining department inventory
- Tasks and Responsibilities, you will: Assembles all instrument procedure trays and kits according to the prescribed manner using content lists as a guide
- Dispenses products requested for sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies
- Assigns priority to emergency requests and issues required supplies and equipment based on knowledge of procedure intended, Assembles instrument trays and supplies according to established aseptic technique
- Disassembles and cleans equipment such as suction machines, IV monitors, heating pumps, wheelchairs and walkers using approved disinfectants, detergents, soaps and cleaners
- Replaces lost or damaged parts such as tubes, containers and connectors from stock on hand
- Examines sterilization/expiration dates on procedural trays and kits; cleans shelves and work areas and mops liquid spills from floors as necessary
