**The pay range for this position is $36.49 - $50.07 per hour
**The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, **Division of Emergency Services and Communications has a full-time vacancy for Network Technology Specialist, 15-1230 COMPUTER SUPP SPECS-9. This position has a 37.5 hour work week and is considered exempt.
**SUMMARY**:Designs, plans, and implements agency-wide technology in support of the Division’s core and ancillary functions under the direction of the IT Manager V to achieve the Division’s short and long range objectives. Primary focus is to serve as the senior technical resource for server technologies including but not limited to server virtualization, cyber security, disaster recovery, active directory services, integrated networking, integration with other supported systems and desktop support.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in mathematics, computer science, business administration, or a related degree field with at least fifteen (15) credit hours in the field of computer science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
**Experience**:Eight years’ experience in computer networking and systems operations, three years of which shall have been concerned with designing and maintaining computer networks and providing technical support in a multi-platform environment. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.**

**License/Certification**:None required.
**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
**Completion of all courses required to qualify to maintain the software and operating systems of the agency within six months of date of hire.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Designs, plans and implements complex IT projects requiring coordination with management, State of New Hampshire IT staff, service providers and various vendors. Manages the implementation of the project including assignment of duties, systems installation, and integration and testing.
**Performs needs assessment from customers, management, and other potentially integrated systems. Coordinates with the Division IT Manager and other Senior Technical staff for feasibility assessment, final system design and implementation plans.
**Monitors IT systems for performance, capacity, event handling, and technical issues. Designs and recommends changes to these systems to either improve performance or decrease the risk of failures.
**Streamlines systems operation functionality and maintenance. Researches new technology to assist with improving the design and implementation of current and new systems. Analyzes operations to determine better ways of providing secure and reliable access to data.
**Coordinates with other Senior Technical staff for the design and deployment of firewall and security technologies for all supported Division of Emergency Services and Communications (DESC) systems. Oversees the design, implementation, integrations, and maintenance of the Active Directory infrastructure for DESC supported systems.
**Designs, implements and manages the Virtualized server environment. Gathers detailed information about out hardware/software environments evaluating new projects to determine feasibility and suitability for systems being added to the virtualized environment. Manages the virtual environment’s resource utilization and capacity planning.
**Designs, monitors, and evaluates the backup strategy for server systems within the DESC server environment. Gathers company needs and creates disaster recovery plans for systems, subsystems, or site failures to then be coordinated and incorporated into the overall DESC continuity of operations planning (COOP). Regularly reviews and tests the implemented strategies for success and compliance.
**Provides helpdesk support for all of DESC supported systems including on-call responsibilities supporting after normal duty hours for both 9-1-1 Call Centers.
