The **Anaheim Convention Center (ACC)** reigns as the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast, having hosted such large, well-attended events as the Winter NAMM Show, Disney's D23 Expo, and Citrix Synergy. Originally opened in 1967, the ACC currently spans 53 acres and offers 1.6 million square feet of functional space and dynamic features. The ACC completed its seventh expansion in the Fall of 2017, providing an additional 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space to our guests.
- We seek dynamic and customer service-oriented individuals like you to join our team We're planning on hiring many** Part Time Security Officers**. Under moderate supervision, the** **Part Time Security Officer performs patrols of buildings and grounds of the Anaheim Convention Center.

***GRAVEYARD SHIFT**

***There is additional pay for working the Graveyard Shift: 11:00pm to 7:00am.**

**This is a part-time position of approximately 30-hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Graveyard hours are 11:00pm to 7:00am, depending on the scheduling of events.**

**Essential Functions**:

- The following functions are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed functions and/or may be required to perform additional or different functions from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices._

Patrol facility, handle calls for service and issue citations on the properties of the Convention, Sports and Entertainment Department either on foot, or on vehicle.
Patrol and issue citations on parking lots in the Convention Center or other City properties per direction of the City Council.
Lock and close gates, bollards and doors, check for any hazards or safety issues and either mitigate the issue or report it to the proper authority
Check for water gas leaks and other hazards or malfunctions and take necessary action to have the problem corrected.
Take Identification photographs, receive lost items and requests for recovery of such items.
Provide escorts as needed for safety precaution.
Issue and safeguard equipment such as city owned vehicles, two-way radios, access cards, keys, and other various security equipment and electronic checkpoint software.
Exercise good, independent judgment and make sound decisions; understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Monitor and respond to computerized fire system; observe multiple panels in the security office to monitor doors, elevators, smoke detectors, and fire dampers; monitor numerous cameras throughout the facility.

Conduct investigations as necessary of events occurring at assigned property and prepare a detailed, accurate and complete report of the event; Prepare event logs; maintain various spreadsheets, databases and lists through the use of a personal computer for reporting purposes.
Insure that building and City of Anaheim rules and procedures are being followed by everyone on the property.
Issue keys and equipment to facility employees.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Experience: Journey-level experience as a Security Officer. An equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to perform the essential job functions and provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.- Ability to: Effectively maintain interpersonal relations and diplomacy with people; demonstrate professionalism, ethics, cultural diversity and discrimination awareness; operate city owned radios, vehicles; write clear and accurate reports; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; read and understand departmental policies, rules, regulations and instructions; use discretion and sound judgment; work independently; maintain availability to work any shift, weekends, holidays and emergency call out without restriction.

Environmental Conditions: Due to the nature of work assignments, incumbents may be required to work in inclement weather.
Physical Conditions: Due to the nature of work assignments, incumbents must be able to patrol facility and/or grounds on a continuous basis which includes climbing stairs, ladders, catwalks and scaffolding as a routine of security patrol and have good night vision. Must be able to lift and carry up to 75-lbs.
