**What is the job?**

The Weekend Direct Support Professional (WDSP) is a non-exempt hourly full time direct support position located in Residential, reporting directly to the Residential Manager. The WDSP shares the home and lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The WDSP supports the mission of Down Home Ranch by providing guidance and instruction in all aspects of the individual’s life, so that they may reach their full potential with a goal of living independently. The WDSP will join with other staff in a high-level commitment to provide an excellent quality of life for the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities served through Ranch

Typical work schedule consists of supporting individuals in the home Friday 3:30 pm to Sunday at 5:00pm; hours will be adjusted according to the needs of Down Home Ranch. There is are an additional 2-8 hours that may be scheduled per week.

**Essential Functions of the Job**
- Coordinates and plans on and off site activities including any assigned special events
- Plans weekend activities with appropriate levels of supervision for individuals served and share schedule with appropriate staff and families in a reasonable timeframe
- Ensures all assigned areas complete paperwork correctly and timely, and is able to manage these requirements effectively
- Responsible to ensure all assigned staff and volunteers complete required training, prior to working independently with individuals
- Ensuring appropriate levels of supervision for individuals served while in the care of assigned area.

**Requirements of the Job**
- Minimum age of 21; excellent driving record and able to pass extensive background investigation
- Stay over the weekend in the home with individuals served
- Sleeping arrangements may be in the common area of the home on a rollaway bed
- Provides excellent customer service
- Completes work with a high degree of autonomy
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building
- Able to write and prepare documentation and reports, as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality under requirements of the HIPAA statutes
- Good communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate with others
