JOB SUMMARY: Under supervision the field tech will inspect, replace and repair 5/8-inch to 1-inch meters and related equipment to ensure accurate meter readings and quality water service. Reports water consumption by locating, testing and reading water meters to ensure an accurate read. Identifies and reports unsafe conditions, such as damaged or missing meter boxes/lids. Performs routine inspections to identify and report illegal connections, leaks on mains and conditions of water meters. Removes dirt/debris from meter boxes to ensure accessibility. The field tech will connect and disconnect water meters using various locks; and remove illegal connections. Install new service lines and meters for residential properties. Repair leaks as necessary. Must operate specialized equipment to make repairs in a safe and efficient manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma/GED is required. A valid Texas Driver's License. Applicant must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and have a good driving record.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS: Knowledge of safe and effective operation of equipment and machinery. Knowledge of occupational hazards involved and the necessary safety precautions. Ability to follow instructions with mínimal supervision. Ability to work cooperatively with other Lilly Grove employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all components of ground water equipment, including valves, motors, vessels, etc.
Replace and/or repair any components associated with the ground water facilities and well sites, and distribution systems
Setup and maintain safety controls on equipment for all ground water facilities and distribution system
Troubleshoot all ground water related equipment
Maintain grounds/mow grass at office and well sites

Other additional duties may be required and assigned

If hired, and upon completion of the “training period” you will be required to work 1-2 weekends a month checking the wells and being on call for water emergencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical activities include lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions; position requires the transport of and use of heavy weight equipment, tools and materials.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works approximately 5% of time in temperature controlled environment conducting administrative duties. Works approximately 95% outside and therefore may result in exposure to various environmental factors, which include undesirable weather conditions, mechanical hazards, excessive noise levels, dust, mud, confined spaces, poison ivy, chemical hazards, and animal/insect hazards.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
