**Main Purpose of Job**:
The main purpose of this full-time position will be to lead the Language Services unit at the MDH St. Mary's County Health Department (SMCHD) which includes outreach/education, care coordination, and interpretation and translation services for our Spanish-speaking community.

This position will also coordinate agency-wide interpreter/translator training and education programs.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

**Experience**: Six months of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.

**Notes**:
**DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A Medical Interpretation Certification
- The ability to fluently write and speak in English and Spanish
- Supervisory experience

**LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS**:
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
