We have provided the freshest beans and most hospitable service to Austin and the surrounding area with a commitment to sustainability, quality, and community. Our warehouse includes the coffee process from roasting to brewing. We are a one stop coffee shop. From a simple cup of coffee to espresso machine repair, we have it all._
**Position summary**: The Retail Barista has the primary responsibility of going beyond the conventional barista position taking time to educate, taste, chat, and build relationships with our customers to provide an unforgettable coffee experience.
**Schedule**:This position is starting Part-Time but there will be Full-Time availability in the future if desired.
We are looking for someone available **Thursday **and **Friday**, Hours range from 7am - 4:30p.
Occasional **Saturday** availability from 8am - 1:30pm is preferred.
**Qualifications**
- Experience in hospitality and/or retail settings
- Vibrant personality with Outstanding Interpersonal skills
- Barista experience preferred but not required
- Current Texas Food Handlers Certification
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Help foster a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- Gain knowledge of general history, origin, and taste profiles of each coffee and be able to relay this information to the customer
- Maintain a clean and organized work space in all sections of work environment, including customer seating
- Operate all brewing equipment correctly to ensure the customer is getting the best coffee exactly how they want it
- Weigh and grind beans accurately
- Cashier efficiently and accurately
- Maintain friendly relationships with all customers who come in including new and regular guests as well as wholesale clients
- Greet and assist every customer who enters the building
- Communicate effectively and work closely with other departments such as production and sales; follows department standards when entering different departments such as clean room policy
- Responsible for opening and closing duties as needed.
**Abilities, Skills, and Requirements**
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions while being proactive and self-starting
- Able to accept constructive criticism, learn quickly and improve
- Works clean and efficiently; follows current food safety and sanitation practices
- Multitask effectively
- Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand and move consistently throughout a shift
- Interest in all things coffee, with the ongoing curiosity to learn more
