The Wilson School District is looking for a **Special Ed Coordinator** for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We offer a competitive hiring salary.
**Our hiring salary is $57,344.25 to $66,667.75 per year based on experience.** Other possible payment (if eligible) $3,000 for National Board-Certified Teacher, $1,500 for BLE, $1,000 for ESL, $500 for Prov ESL.

As the Special Ed Coordinator, you help ensure students have access to high quality education by providing special education services for students identified with emotional disabilities and other conduct-related disabilities.
The primary role of the Special Education Coordinator is to perform such duties necessary to meet full compliance with all exceptional education regulations. This person is responsible for overseeing and writing Exceptional Education paperwork at schools, ensuring compliance with all ExEd caseload IEP and MET meetings as requested by service provider, monitoring students' files for compliance, initiating/maintaining a case manager network, and ensuring progress on goals are being documented by service providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating and assuring full state and federal compliance with all aspects of programming (identification, review, dismissal) for students with disabilities per the IDEA, Section 504, and the ADA.
- Direct special education services for all students with disabilities and ensure that students have access to the core curriculum.
- Monitor the development and implementation of all aspects of the special education program process.
- Oversee the Extended School Year (ESY) program
- Supervising itinerant service providers.
- Training and overseeing administration of alternative assessments; Participate in collaborative department and site meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement
- Preparing and reporting accurate and timely data for internal and external regulatory purposes; and
- Facilitating in the development and implementation of informal academic and behavioral intervention programs for individual students. Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and research-based interventions for academically and/or behaviorally at-risk students unresponsive to Tier 1 classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with district personnel, school administrative teams and staff to support delivery of instructional services and supports for students with disabilities.
- Coordinate the collection of accurate and applicable data relating to student learning and the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
- Conducts quarterly audits of files.
- Reviews incoming records/IEPs to determine placement and assign case manager.
- Provides consultation to parents and teacher regarding student concerns. Maintain open lines of communication regarding special education with all interested parties; respond to concerns of parents, teachers, building and central office administrators, and community members.
- Serve as a liaison and have active involvement with professionals at the district and site levels.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Arizona Teaching certificate
- Special Education certificate
- Arizona state teaching certification
- 3 years minimum experience as a Special Education teacher
PREFFERED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in case management or building-level program administration is preferred.
- Together with a high level of educational attainment, the successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and credibility to parents, students, staff, supervisors, and outside agencies through oral and written communication that is timely, confident, and articulate.
- Critically, an applicant must possess a thorough knowledge of current disability law (IDEA, Section 504), excellent recommendations, experience working with children, ability to perform tasks with precision (attention to detail, adherence to timelines), excellent organizational skills and facility with office technology, and be open to new ideas in education.
