**Safety Coordinator**

The Safety coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the EHS Director to implement the environmental health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The EHS Specialist is responsible for driving safety initiatives, protecting the well-being of employees, minimizing environmental impact, and driving our safety excellence culture.

**What you'd do at Verde**
- Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other responsibilities may also be assigned. - Support Verde's safety program and accompanying procedures
- Train employees on safety procedures including conducting New Hire Safety Orientation, refresher trainings, and JHAs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations
- Conduct Job Hazard Assessments
- Conduct/facility incident investigation and reporting
- Support Verde's EHS platform (KPA)
- Verify that employees consistently follow safety protocols by conducting safety inspections
- Support Verde Safety Excellence program
- Facilitate Site EHS Committee
- Lead stretch and flex program
- Manage PPE program
- Collaborate with Operations to anticipate and mitigate hazards
- Reports to the EHS Director

**Skills & Personality Indicators**
- Bi-lingual preffered (English and Spanish).
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
- Familiarity with the tools, machines and equipment used in the workplace
- Attention to detail
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to teach others the established safety standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology used in the industry
- Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
- Passion for helping people
- Willingness to learn more about safety
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Strong desire to grow in the safety profession.

**Qualifications**
- Proficiency or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience in any of the following would be a plus: facilities, green cleaning / custodial, critical space / cleanroom, and / or LEED
