**GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Instructional Technology Specialist provides instruction, training, and resources to administrators, professional staff and classified staff in order to facilitate the integration of technology in the office, classroom, and workplace which will enhance efficiency. The individual is also responsible for supervising, coordinating, organizing and facilitating the effective utilization of instructional technology within the school setting. This position will focus on middle and high school staff with multiple District initiatives.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
Professional Development

Assists the administrative, professional and classified staff in the proper use of technology.

Collaborates with educators to develop assignments and/or designs that target learning goals and national, state, and local standards for a course.

Educates administrative, professional and classified staff to use new technologies to enhance their workplace proficiency, which may involve training in a one-on-one or workshop environment.

Provides input and expertise to the District Technology Coordinator on staff/administrative needs.

Develops collaborations with technology services for assisting staff/administration in utilizing available technologies.

Identify particular technology needs among the staff/administration, and research hardware or software that could meet those needs. Develop or arrange demonstrations of the possible technology solutions as appropriate.

Assist in the development, maintenance and supervision of instructional technology resources for educators, including: documentation on special purpose hardware and software, information on particular uses of technology for teaching, online and print tutorials, and guides for technologies available within the district.

Conduct workshops before, during, and after school along with making workshop opportunities available to meet teacher and administrator needs.

Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay up-to-date with current practices, software, and trends within educational technology.

Help Desk

Communicate, coordinate activities, and manage and supervise projects related to academic support efforts with technology services.

Provide system-administrator-level support for large-scale instructional-technology systems providing district-wide services.

Online

Assists the administrative, professional and classified staff in the proper use of online technology and resources.

Collaborates with educators to develop online assignments and/or online designs that target learning goals and national, state, and local standards for online courses.

**OTHER FUNCTIONS**:
Maintain technology documentation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
College diploma, university degree, or technical school training certification in the field of technology, and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
