**This is Part Time, Non-Permanent position assisting in the Junior Lifeguard Program of the Marine Safety Division**

Current vacancies are to provide program assistance in the Junior Lifeguard Program of the Marine Safety Division.
**Hours worked per week may vary and may include evenings and weekends.**
**Examples of Essential Duties**:
Under supervision, from the Huntington Beach Marine Safety Division Lifeguards, the Recreation Leader is expected to work on a daily basis with the the HBFD Marine Safety Junior Lifeguard Program; perform equipment set-up and break-down; and perform the following:
Ability to work in an aquatic environment and be responsible for younger children, in small groups.

- Upon a conditional offer of employment a drug screen (select positions), TB Screening and California Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan fingerprinting must be completed with acceptable results.
- Other background reports may also be conducted depending on the position.
The SALARY RANGE is composed of seven steps. Merit step increases are based on satisfactory performance.
PROMOTIONS within the City are based upon the merit system principles emphasizing individual ability and utilizing competitive examinations.
CREDIT UNION membership is available to all City employees and provides access to low interest loans.
