Teacher Assistant

**JOB DETAILS**:

- Strategic Kids K-12 Teacher Assistants take direction from a Special Education Classroom Teacher or General Education Teacher to help elementary, middle, or high school special needs students with autism, learning disabilities, behavioral issues, or other health impairments during the school day.
- All current openings are at K-12 schools from Mission Viejo to San Clemente.
- All jobs are currently on-call as we finish out the 2023-24 school year.
- Staff typically work the days they want to work, from two to five days per week.
- This job is to finish out the 2023-24 school year.
- Staff can also work a consistent schedule during the summer of 2024.

**WORK SCHEDULE OPTIONS**:

- Mission Viejo to San Clemente K-12 Schools_
- Monday to Friday
- 5 to 7 hours per day
- 2 to 5 days per week
- Anytime from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Must be able to start between 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- On-call jobs are in high demand

- Monday to Friday
- 5 to 6 hours per day
- 2 to 5 days per week
- Anytime from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- Must be able to start between 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

**EXPERIENCE**
Teacher Aide applicants must enjoy being around children and have experience working or volunteering with children, such as babysitting or helping in classrooms.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities in the classroom.
- Support classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and organized learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students who may require additional help or attention.
- Utilize communication skills to effectively interact with students, the teacher, and other staff members.
- Assist in behavior management strategies to promote a safe and respectful classroom environment.
- Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support in literacy education and math activities.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 18 years old or older
- Speak English
- Being bilingual in any language is also a huge plus
- Have a current driver's license and your own vehicle (car) to drive to assigned school(s)
- Live within 15 miles from assigned school(s) in Orange County
- Pass Live Scan Fingerprints through Dept. of Justice (paid for by Strategic Kids)
- Work assigned schedule or any modifications
- Attend a paid one-hour New Hire Orientation (NHO) on a Tuesday from 12pm to 1pm
