**Job Description**:
The primary responsibility of a Shop Helper is to performs general labor tasks. In this position your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

- Assist with disassembly and reassembly of motors, generators, and pumps.
- Sandblast, steam clean, cleans and prep parts.
- Operates the cutout saw and put motors, generators, and pumps in the burn out oven.
- Performs tasks as required for general facility maintenance and upkeep including but not limited to lawn care, general janitorial duties, sweeping, pressure washing and painting.
- Operate company equipment (i.e.: Forklift, Crane, hand tools etc.) in a safe and efficient manner in the performance of all duties as required.
- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
- Comply with all company policies / procedures and perform all job functions in an ethical manner.
- Complete all required safety training.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear for all tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area free of hazards as directed by supervisor.
- Performs all applicable duties in accordance with ISO procedures, if required.
- Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor.

Additional Job Details
- Must pass all required pre-employment screenings - Background, MVR, Physical, Drug screen.
- Be able to comply with all drug and alcohol policies of Houma Armature Works and/or customer sponsored programs. Subject to random Drug and Alcohol screenings.
- Be able to operate motor vehicles in compliance with all state and federal requirements, if travel required.
- Possess valid identification.
- Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends, if required.
- Ability to successfully complete all required training, in-house/offsite.
- Forklift and overhead crane certification required.
- Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic/Experienced mechanic knowledge.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read, write and follow work instructions.
