**Purpose**

The Safety and Wellness Coordinator at Lithionics Battery establishes and oversees the health and safety processes for the organization, trains employees on safety protocols, and enforces them if they’re not being followed properly, they will also provide leadership for a comprehensive wellness program. The Safety Coordinator also responds when workplace accidents happen, creating reports and determining ways to prevent similar accidents.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Plan and Implement Safety Policies and Procedures to Conform to required OSHA, Federal, and State regulations.
- Advise and assist Department heads in creating safety plans and control methods to ensure they are followed.
- Conduct Safety Observations and report findings and action items.
- Plan and lead safety Committee meetings.
- Plan and Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks.
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe tooling operation.
- Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident.
- Generate all required safety metrics and OSHA/Lithionics required reports.
- Reviewing and acting on Risk assessments and safety concerns regarding work instructions, processes, and tooling.
- Leads a comprehensive wellness program.
- Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and fitness activities and programs for employees.
- Plans and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles.
- Develops promotion and publicity plans for wellness and fitness programs throughout the organization.
- Compiles statistical summaries of participant data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation.
- Assists the associate director in the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program.
- Provides educational presentations and training programs.
- Any other tasks assigned by management.

**Qualifications**
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
- Familiarity with the tools, machines, and equipment used in the workplace.
- Attention to detail.
- Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to teach others the established safety standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology.
- Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people.**Education/Experience**
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years’ experience as a Safety coordinator or similar position
- 2 years’ experience in the manufacturing facility
- Must be OSHA 30 Certified.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
