**Reports to**: After School Supervisor Position Type: Part-Time

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**: After school workers spend majority of their time at the building with the exception of a few community outings. After school workers are assigned a group of children that they work with after school Monday through Friday. After school workers work seventeen and a half hours to twenty five hours a week. There is one to one attention often required however most of your time will be spent in a group setting.

2. Learn constructive play and instructional activities appropriate for school aged children
3. Learn child guided principles and practices
4. Non-judgmental about the client’s situation
5. Able to work effectively with individuals and groups
6. Work cooperatively with others
7. Work confidentially with discretion
8. Able to stay calm under pressure
9. Able to encourage others and build their self-confidence
10. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
11. Understand and follow both oral and written directions

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Supervise children, with safety as a priority while following risk management policies.
2. Participate and encourage positive participation of all students in daily activities and events.
3. Prepare and submit weekly progress notes as required.
4. Attend trainings and regular meetings.
5. Lead organized learning activities students to help develop and strengthen academic, physical and social skills.
6. As needed, differentiate lessons and activities so that they are appropriate to students with various abilities.
7. Review program plans with Supervisor and other staff members for effective program implementation.
8. Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
9. Participate in cleaning and maintain the facility.
10. Inspect the surrounding area and equipment for safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
11. Interact professionally and appropriately with clients, parents and staff.
12. Demonstrate the values of caring, respect, honesty, integrity and responsibility in all of your interactions with participants, members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.
13. Follow Together Lives Change policies and procedures as it relates to your position.
14. All other relevant duties assigned by your supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:
At least six months experience working with therapeutic children, valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance policy, in-service cell phone, criminal background check and Tuberculosis clearance.
