**Responsibilities**:
Hire, retain and lead high-functioning, diverse group of engineering professionals, establishing clear objectives and key results, developing consistent set of practices and process across the team and driving towards resolution of challenging problems. This includes all performance management aspects of leading the engineers including acquiring and providing 360 feedback and administering reviews. Manages software ownership and development from initial concept through continuous improvement.
Lead and shape the technical vision within their domain and be an essential member of leadership team including acting as a leader in the Discover engineering community affecting and advancing the architecture across the company and ensuring adherence to all regulatory, compliance and audit requirements. This includes defining how technical work should be done, selecting appropriate tools, defining technology, quality, experience and implementation standards and practices within own technical domain.
Work with key stakeholders to efficiently and effectively allocate team members to product teams to meet business and Product area objectives.
Engage with internal and external communities of practice to share experiences, contribute knowledge, learn and advocate for the Discover Technology brand. Promotes team innovation and collaboration of ideas across teams.
Develop and manage a team that delivers data and analytic technologies.
Consult team members during project design and development.
Develop and enhance technology solutions to support seamless integration and flow of data across the data ecosystem.
Design and develop data ingestion and processes frameworks leveraging open-source tools
Optimize the performance of ETL processes and scripts by working with other technical staff as needed
Provide business analysis and develop ETL code and scripting to meet all technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs
Develop data driven solutions utilizing current and next generation technologies to meet evolving business needs.
Design, develop, test, and implement data-driven solutions to meet business requirements
Ability to quickly identify an opportunity and recommend possible technical solutions.
Custom Data pipeline development (Cloud and locally hosted)
Work heavily within the Cloud ecosystem and migrate data from Teradata to AWS based platform.
Ensure proper data governance policies are followed by implementing or validating Data Lineage, Quality checks, classification, etc.
Designs and develops data ingestion frameworks leveraging open source tools and data processing frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications

**At a minimum, here’s what we need from you**:
Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Business, or related
4+ years of experience with Application Development or related
In lieu of education, 6+ years Application Development or related

Preferred Qualifications

**If we had our say, we’d also look for**:
2+ years experience in People Leadership
Hands on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) based solutions such as Lambda, Dynamo dB, Snowflake and S3.
Knowledge of Data Warehouse technology (Unix/Teradata/Ab Initio/Python/Spark/Snowflake/NoSQL)
Experience in migrating ETL processes (not just data) from relational warehouse Databases to AWS based solutions.
Experience in building & utilizing tools and frameworks within the Big Data ecosystem including Kafka, Spark, and NoSQL.

**Compensation**: The base pay for this position generally ranges between $104,000.00 to $175,600.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
