One of our clients in Oil & Gas industry is looking for an experienced SQL DBA who can be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.

**Role**:SQL DBA

**Location**:Houston Downtown - (onsite 5 days a week)

**Type**:Long Term Contract (1 year +)

**Industry: Oil & Gas**

**W2 only**

**No C2C, No Sponsorship, No Relocation**

**Job description**:
Our client is looking for an experienced SQL DBA who can be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage SQL databases.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
- Provide suggestions for solutions.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 8+ years of experience as a SQL DBA.
- 8+years of experience with MY SQL Server Administration experience required.
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO).
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
- Experience in implementing SQL Server security (including TDE).
- Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance monitoring\tuning experience.
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Team player.
- Good time-management skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus.
