Job Summary

**Responsibilities**:

- Coaches undergraduate students interested in law school and legal careers on appropriate career management and job search skills in large lectures, hands-on workshops, special events, training programs, and one-on-one career coaching settings to help them be competitive applicants.
- Helps students to find suitable jobs and internships and reports on placement and law school admissions outcomes to senior leadership. May also work in employer relations to build relationships in the legal profession and secure additional internships and full-time opportunities for University students. Also works with existing alumni and recruiting partners.
- Analyzes markets and trends as they relate to job searches. Solicits and analyzes student feedback and evaluations and helps strategize with other career services staff members, student organizations, or other staff to determine program offerings and innovations.
- Conceptualizes, develops, and delivers career management programming. May partner with several industry, regional, or functional student groups to assist in planning and delivering career-management related programming.
- Manages or leads various special projects/programs that provide career related support. Meets with recruiters on an occasional basis to discuss recruiting strategies and hiring needs.
- Oversees and manages Rising Attorneys Program cohort. Supports the management of the Law & Politics cohort.
- Participates in career management team leadership. Provides professional mentoring and program guidance to junior staff.
- Conducts job search and career management related large lectures, hands-on workshops, special events, training programs, and one-on-one career coaching sessions. Acts as a resource for and directs students to other career resources as needed.
- Works, with mínimal guidance, to write timely and effective articles about career management topics for a variety of student publications. Conceptualizes, develops, and delivers career management programming and published materials.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

**Education**:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
- Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Certifications:

- JD or a comparable advanced degree.

**Experience**:

- Career counseling or three years’ experience in industry specialty.
- Developing and implementing a successful communication strategy for marketing programs, recruiting volunteers, and/or liaising with student groups.
- Background in the legal profession.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Utilize Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other digital platform for meetings and events.
- Expertise in counseling, program development, or a related area.
- Knowledge of career development theory and strong coaching or counseling skills.
