A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient-centered care that is outcome-directed. Patient-centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision. Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $5000 Essential Job Functions Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs. Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager. Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member. Assists Care Center in development/attainment of goals and objectives. Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice. Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meet those needs. Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation.
