**A/P SPECIALIST**

**SCHEDULE: Part Time Monday - Friday: flexible hours**

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred
- Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and education
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor management
- 40 wpm typing; 10-key by touch
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficient in accounting or related software
- Work additional hours, as needed

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
- Works independently, prioritizes tasks, and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation
- Routes/tracks invoices for appropriate approval
- Facilitates payment of vendors, to include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies
- Codes invoices for appropriate GL account
- Processes invoices to accounting system after receiving supervisor approval
- Prepares and processes weekly payment runs and issue payments
- Answers all vendor inquiries
- Reconciles vendor statements
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and accounts payable files
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Performs filing, copying, and scanning
- Opens mail daily
- Assists at reception desk as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
- Work effectively with other employees
- Assists other departments as time and workload allows
- Other duties may be assigned

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

While performing the duties of this position, an employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Employee is regularly required to use hands and arms, see, speak, and hear. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, typing, and speaking with employees and vendors. May be required to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
