**DVCC Job Requirements**:

- _**Must have mental/behavioral health experience**_
- _**Must have billing experience in AdvancedMD, Simple Practice or Kareo.**_
- **Excellent phone etiquette and a passion for assisting other over the phone**:

- 2+ years experience working in a mental health office. (Experience in a group practice preferred)
- Researching unpaid claims and assisting in resolving denials, partial payments, and payment variances
- Accessing web payment based websites and contacting insurance companies to correct and rebill denied claims
- Communicating with patients to obtain missing information to accurately correct claims
- Strong communication and people skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Communicating with patients to explain insurance payments, deductibles, copays, and patient responsibility and balance
- Patient Balance Advocacy: taking and receiving patient calls with insurance billing questions and payments
- Communicating with clients to collect balances owed
- Running reports and staying on top of the billing cycle
- Maintaining updated knowledge of insurance payors billing addresses and requirements
- Ensure corrected claims are submitted in a timely manner
- Demonstrate the ability to act as a team player in a professional and positive manner.
- Utilize claims clearinghouse to review and correct claims and to resubmit electronically when available
- Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly
- Overall review and reduction of AR aging claims
- Follow up on no response claims
- Work denials to completion
- Appeal creation and submission
- Set up payment plans and knowledge of Sliding Fee Scale and Self Pay
- Assure coding is compliant and up to date.
- Coding and billing claims.
- Some colleges related to mental health preferred

**The Position at DVCC**:
We are seeking full time A/R Specialist who is an experienced and certified Medical Code and/or Biller. We prefer an A-Z biller that knows all areas of billing and has an excellent track record and proven experience.
