**Company Description**

Old Glory Days has been in business since 2013, as an adult day center. This Spring, we will be expanding to also have a senior home, a licensed Assisted Living for only 6 seniors. **This position is for two days per week at the adult day center in Sandy Hook.**

At Old Glory Days we pride ourselves on having a cozy, home-like environment. Our small spaces are designed to feel like home and not be over-stimulating or overwhelming for those with cognitive impairments. Because of our size, we are also able to offer individualized care and attention to better meet the adults’ needs.

The company is hiring for multiple positions including CNAs, Program Aides, LPNs, and Drivers for Sandy Hook and Watertown. Part time, Full time, and Per Diem positions are available.

**LPN Substitute Job Description**

The LPN at Old Glory Days acts also as a Program Aide. In addition, he/she supervises other Program Aides. The LPN manages the daily operations in the Director’s absence.

**Supervision: Directly supervised by Director of program.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Administer medications as directed by client’s physician and document on MAR
- Review Physician’s Orders for current dates and any changes
- Review MARs with orders monthly and sign
- Monitor medications for correct storage and expiration
- Complete progress notes, care plans, and other documentation as needed
- Take clients’ vitals monthly and record
- Administer First Aid in event of injury and complete Incident Report
- Provide companionship and socialization
- Facilitate and participate in activities
- Set up and clean up meals
- Assist with eating, toileting, and ambulating if needed. Use universal precautions while assisting with ADLs.
- Lead or assist with light exercises
- Inform Director about any important information about the client and his condition (emotionally and physically)
- Provide emotional support to clients and help them cope with stress
- Maintain neat and clean center to include: washing dishes, sweeping, cleaning bathroom, dusting, and disinfecting. Cleaning is to be done at a time that does not interfere with the program.
- Complete monthly fire drills and fire extinguisher inspections

**Skills and Specifications**
- Have basic knowledge and understanding of medical and social needs of clients
- Be understanding and empathetic with clients and families
- Have a cheerful personality and try to bring positivity to the clients and program
- Have dedicated work ethic
- Be able to handle multiple clients
- Be able to handle emergency situations with a calm manner

**Education and Qualifications**
- LPN license
- Experience working with clients with impaired physical and cognitive ability is strongly preferred
- The Director has the right to determine an applicant’s qualification for position

**Job Types**: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 per week
