Fitness Machine Technician

Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager and General Manager, this individual will be responsible for completing work orders, performing preventative maintenance and cleaning fitness equipment throughout the club. They will troubleshoot and repair fitness equipment and ensure all equipment is in working order.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include but are not limited to the following:

- Daily walk through of all work out areas to complete a visual and audible inspection of all equipment. Check suggestion boxes in work out rooms, enter any requests in software. Talk to members or staff about issues logged or noticed. Make sure out of order signs are posted
- Upon completion of work orders, clean equipment and your work area.
- Dismantle equipment and remove parts as necessary using a variety of hand tools.
- Assemble new equipment as needed. Assist in moving equipment throughout the club.
- Inspect and test equipment.
- Post necessary machine maintenance signage. If a machine is out of order for an extended period of time, work with owners to determine whether a sign with an explanation is sufficient or whether the machine should be removed from floor.
- Install, replace or change equipment parts according to production specifications.
- Process equipment recalls.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Conserve maintenance resources by working quickly and using equipment and supplies as needed.
- Document equipment maintenance repairs as completed and enter in software. Maintain log indicating equipment maintenance work performed and projects completed.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Maintain inventory of supplies used for common projects by keeping necessary parts available.
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all members, staff and management.
- Assist MOD with special projects that need immediate attention such as an immediate needs.
- Ensure safety standards are used to comply with all company, local, state and federal OSHA guidelines. Maintain a safe environment for staff and members.
- Follow established club policies and procedures.
- Alert supervisor of any unusual occurrences and/or damage that may have taken place and is in need of attention.
- Work with maintenance department on special projects and work orders when fitness equipment is clean and maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service while present and available to members. Engage and process concerns as needed.
- Maintain functionality and cleanliness of fitness equipment. The goal is to keep all of the fitness equipment working at all times.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

**Preferred Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications**:

- A high school diploma with technical training in electrical, small engine repair or other equipment maintenance and 1+ years related experience required.
- Employee must possess a valid driver’s license that is without restriction.
- Additional Small engine repair certification preferred.
- Technician certifications specific to fitness machine brands preferred or willingness to obtain.

**Status**: Part Time or Full Time
**Schedule**: Flexible scheduling, mostly daytime shifts. Nights and weekends as needed.

**Benefits**: Benefits Package depends on employment status. Full-Time package includes Health, Dental and 401K match.
**Compensation**: $25-$30/hour depending on experience and certification

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
