**Position Description**:
The Plating Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the plating process within our manufacturing plant. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in plating techniques, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards while ensuring productivity and efficiency.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:

- Utilize resources to (1) meet production schedules, prevent bottlenecks, and maximize throughput, (2) achieve quality objectives, and (3) review and disposition non-conforming material.
- Monitor the accuracy of documentation and data entries.
- Initiate productivity and quality improvement plans.
- Effectively work with other departmental supervisors/managers to resolve issues, coordinate resources, and relay pertinent information.
- Perform employee reviews.
- Work with management to establish department goals and objectives.
- Communicate company and department information to employees.
- Enforce company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Ensures all safety protocols are followed and sets the safety standards.
- Ensures that manufactured products meet print specifications and internal quality requirements.
- Guides and directs work activities of team members in accordance with established work procedures.
- Trains new employees on procedures, equipment, and policies.
- Direct, correct, and motivate team members to achieve the highest possible efficiency.
- Recommend improvements to reduce production costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Evaluate workload and communicate resource allocation needs with the Shop Foreman.
- Communicate honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrate effective listening skills.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

**Competencies**:

- Keep an accurate count of parts finished per work order.
- Record required information on log sheets and route parts to the next department.
- Assists with the maintenance of chemical and rinsing tanks.
- Must be able to perform all aspects of preparation, racking, cleaning, and processing of parts to be finished on the Chemfilm (chromate), and Anodizing production lines (includes SS-passivation, phosphate and

black oxide/dye coating and non-standard Chromate coatings).
- Resolves process issues on the Chemfilm (chromate), and Anodizing production lines

**Essential Functions**:

- Racks and bins a variety of sheet metal/CNC machined products that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Follow all safety and hazard procedures and posters.
- Read and follow work orders and engineering drawings.
- Rack parts according to specifications or instructions.
- Dry parts according to specifications or instructions.
- Un-rack, wrap, and pack parts per specifications or instructions.
- Identify metal types and associated processing times are being processed through two or more of the above production lines.
- Performs rack-loading and rack/tank-density production processes on the anodizing or zinc-plating

production lines.
- Perform amperage/area calculations.

**Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills**):

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Must be familiar with quality standards (ISO9001/AS9100)
- Must be familiar with Tech Data Sheets and Material Safety Sheets
- Must be familiar with Mil Specs
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow department and company policies and procedures.
- Lead a team of plating technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules.
- Must be able to work with a variety of industrial chemicals.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Must be proficient and knowledgeable in racking, un-racking, drying, wrapping, and packing sheet metal parts.
- Must be proficient in math.

**Essential Physical Requirements**:

- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to work in noisy environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to bend and stretch.
