The W. P. Carey School of Business Graduate Programs Student Services Support Specialist supports graduate business programs including event and program management, daily operations, and student retention strategies under the direction and guidance of the Associate or Assistant Director. You will join a high-performing team of student professionals in a position that cultivates the development, implementation, and evaluation of support services and events designed to ensure student academic success and engagement.

It requires someone who can be aware of and responsive to team and student needs and concerns in a service-oriented work environment with professional communication and confidentiality. This position is part of a larger team working together to provide the best customer service necessary to build and maintain strong relations with students and internal customers. The primary responsibilities of this position include graduate student support, faculty support, large and small-scale event support, execution of communications, and daily operations of the academic program(s).

With a flexible schedule to meet your work/life balance needs and those of your program, including a hybrid remote option schedule, the Support Specialist is responsible for providing administrative student support, understanding and creating academic schedules, providing event support, project assistance, processing expenses and disbursements in accordance with the program budget, advising domestic & international students, and providing faculty support.

**Essential Duties**
- The Student Support Specialist has the following major responsibilities for our MBA or Specialized Master’s programs, which may require occasional extended work hours, including evenings and/or weekends as needed, and in-state or out-of-state travel.
- Supports the Student Registration Process.
- Supports activities related to academic progress such as academic probation, out-of-synch/off-track students, withdrawals, and other student enrollment adjustments.
- Counsels and confers with students providing academic advising, problem solving, and resolution as it relates to Non-WPC, Non-Degree Seeking students, Exchange Students, and pathway programs where students are requesting to enroll in MBA Electives.
- Assists with the Academic Progress Monitoring of the MBA Programs.
- Supports program event planning and logistics including room scheduling, catering, AV needs, promotional item purchasing, set-up, management of attendees, and break-down.
- Manages program calendars and final exam schedules.
- Interprets and enforces program and university policies and procedures. Serves as an information resource for student services and affairs within the college and ASU.
- Supports the ordering of course materials and program materials in collaboration with other coordinators, academic units, accounting, and vendors.
- Works collaboratively with other departments and university offices to ensure business needs are met.
- Provides assistance and information to faculty, staff, and outside organizations regarding function/program.
- Supports and maintains data for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Supports new student orientation programming.
- Adheres to program budgets by managing program expenditures and requests, preparing disbursement requests, proposals, and approvals, where appropriate.
- Creates, documents, and maintains student service processes and procedures.
- Supports faculty in classroom environment.
- Represents the WPC Program Operations team and serves on various department and university committees.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND one year of administrative and appropriate program experience; OR, Five years of progressively responsible administrative and appropriate program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
