**About the Role**: The primary responsibility of the Buyer is to procure and source raw materials promptly while upholding stringent quality standards and ensuring cost competitiveness.

**About You**: As a Buyer at MeriCal, you will have the opportunity to not only contribute to our success but also to enhance your own skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment. You are an assertive, outgoing, and task-oriented individual with a solid understanding of the supply chain. In this role, you will:

- Utilize the ERP system to review demand and issue purchase orders for required materials.
- Drive cost savings through executing RFQs, identifying potential cost reduction areas, and staying informed about market trends.
- Develop and nurture supplier relationships to ensure high quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of raw materials.
- Collaborate with the New Product Development team to support sourcing needs.
- Work closely with R&D to assess alternative/secondary suppliers for supply chain continuity.
- Address any quality issues with materials by partnering with Quality and Vendor teams.
- Maintain data accuracy in ERP by updating purchase orders, lead times, safety stocks, and vendor information.
- Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and collaborate with Sales on discontinuations to avoid excess and obsolete inventory.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams on project statuses and deadlines.

**Qualifications to be a Buyer**:

- Three plus years' experience in pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement, or food-related industries with extensive knowledge of raw material sourcing and procurement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop alternative solutions independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in organization and outside communication.
- Undergraduate Degree.
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Strong computer skills with experience in MRP, data entry, and spreadsheets.
