**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Perform Ultrasound Examinations**:

- Conduct ultrasound procedures on patients as per physician orders.
- Produce diagnostic images and ensure image quality meets standards.
- Adjust equipment and controls according to specific imaging needs.
- **Patient Care**:

- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- **Equipment Operation and Maintenance**:

- Operate ultrasound equipment, including Doppler ultrasound, echocardiography, and other specialized machines.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- **Record Keeping and Documentation**:

- Accurately record patient information and examination details in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Prepare and submit reports of findings to physicians for interpretation.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with continuing education and certifications to maintain professional standards.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician preferred.
- Experience in a variety of ultrasound techniques, including obstetric, abdominal, and vascular.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and producing diagnostic images.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and move patients as necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

- This position involves working in a clinical setting with exposure to infectious diseases, blood, and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations and work efficiently under pressure.
