We are currently looking for a dynamic **Product Development Assistant** to join our growing team **on site** in Hicksville, NY

This position is responsible for supporting the product development process to ensure customer needs are met and exceeded. It is an AMAZING opportunity for a **recent college graduate** with product development internship experience to learn how we make our incredible confectionery, souvenir, and branded products

Responsibilities include all aspects of pre-production development including researching, purchasing, and sourcing new or existing products, and maintaining accurate documentation. Will support multiple teams across the product development process.

***This is NOT a software development / tech role**

**Essential Functions**:

- Assist with the development of new products across multiple lines of business
- Support requests from internal stakeholders and sales teams to fulfill private label and branded confectionary programs
- Utilize insights in development of new product and packaging ideas
- Coordinate new product development including market & product research, competitive analysis, timeline development, sourcing, costing, packaging, and pricing recommendations
- Assist with product costing breakdown and bill of materials development, including raw materials, components, labor, and other costs to determine pricing
- Manage and fulfill sample requests for evaluation, customer meetings, and trade shows.
- Work with Quality Control to ensure all new products and packaging are vetted for vendor documentation approval.
- Communicate with domestic and international third-party vendors in sourcing new products and packaging, and obtaining current costs, samples, and specifications to build final costing and business recommendations.
- Work with Marketing and Creative on communication materials supporting new product launches
- Collaborate with PD team members to support department initiatives

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or internship experience in related field preferred
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in Product Development or Product Management in a manufacturing or CPG organization
- Process-oriented, can execute and introduce systemic process
- Dynamic multi-tasker; can prioritize, balance, and support multiple initiatives
- Possesses an organized, detail-focused approach
- Ability to problem solve effectively and creatively
- Working knowledge of sales cycles and experience supporting Sales staff and customers.
- Communicates effectively - both verbally and written
- Previous experience with costing or P&Ls, a plus
