**Position Summary**:
The role of the Director of Geriatrics Programs is to oversee Met Council’s Social Services program that focuses on the senior population. This position directly supervises the program director and managers of the Holocaust Survivors Program, Senior Repair Program, Elder Abuse Prevention Program, and all other Geriatrics Programs. The Director will ensure departmental deliverables are met, manage the program budget, respond to funder requests for progress reports, work with program managers to plan and oversee special events, maintain relationships with partner agencies (including JCCs, YMHAs and other Social Service organizations), and ensure that clients are being appropriately served. The Director will also provide direct service to clients as needed and represent the organization at meetings and conferences.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute program models for the Elder Abuse Prevention Program, Holocaust Survivor Program, and Senior Repair Program.
- Develop and execute program models for Met Council’s inclusionary housing tenants, including case assistance services and socialization opportunities.
- Develop and execute program models for general Geriatrics services.
- Hire, train, and lead a large and growing Geriatrics team, including social workers, who are culturally and linguistically competent to provide services to a wide range of older adults.
- Supervise departmental program managers.
- Provide direct client services as needed; including case management, needs assessments, financial assistance, information and referrals.
- Ensure the department maintains appropriate paperwork and database input (i.e. Salesforce), complies with highest ethical and legal standards, and operates best-in-class services.
- Ensure the department complies with the demands of grants, contracts, and other funders.
- Responsible for program reports and site visits for funders and stakeholders, as well as new funder cultivation.
- Responsible for creating program evaluations and recommendations.
- Represent Met Council on tasks forces, other committees, and with external partners.
- Develop ongoing relationships with community service providers.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity especially to trauma survivors, insular, immigrant, and minority groups.
- Additional responsibilities as required.

**Skill and Education Required**:

- Bachelor’s degree (required), LCSW (SIFI eligible) (preferred). A bachelor’s degree with some combination of relevant professional experience and alternate advanced degree (acceptable), or bachelor’s degree with 7+ years strongly related professional experience (acceptable).
- Minimum 3 years professional management experience (required).
- Experience with Holocaust survivors and/or geriatric social work services (preferred).
- Bi-lingual Yiddish, Russian or Spanish speaking (preferred).
- Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Forms, etc.) and Salesforce/other databases.

**Special Requirements**:

- Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City via public transportation.

**Compensation**:$90,000 to $110,000 per year.
