**Compensation**: This position's pay range is between $24-$26 per hour based on experience level. There are additional annual bonus opportunities.

**Shift Details**: This is a Saturday only position. The shift is 8 am - 8 pm on Saturdays.

**Skills**: We are looking for a part time veterinary technician that has a special interest in urgent care. Someone with working knowledge of a veterinary hospital (vaccines, medications, procedures). We need someone with experience reading ear cytologies, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, ability to operate in-house Zoetis lab equipment. We need someone that can confidently and efficiently keep the flow for the day on schedule.

**Compensation**: $24 - $26 with a $4.00 pay differential

**Hospital Details**:

- We are excited to announce that we will be opening our doors on weekends to provide our clients and community Urgent Care. We aim to address issues that cannot wait for a regular appointment, yet do not pose as immediate threat to a pet's life. Vomiting/diarrhea, minor wounds, limping, eye injuries or changes, sudden changes in behavior. While these issues may not be an emergency, they still demand timely evaluation and treatment to prevent complications or alleviate discomfort.
- We are looking for a part time veterinary technician that has a special interest in urgent care. We are looking for 8 am - 8 pm coverage for Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- We need someone with experience reading ear cytologies, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, ability to operate in-house Zoetis lab equipment. We need someone that can confidently and efficiently keep the flow for the day on schedule.

Sea Girt Animal Hospital is a 5 doctor hospital that sees dogs, cats and exotics. Our team sets us apart from other animal hospitals in the area. We offer a large array of services including ultrasound, laser therapy, some oncology and more.

We have a lot of great in-house lab equipment including the new Imagyst. The Imagyst is the new artificially intelligent cytology reader. It reads ear cytologies, fecals, urines, and fine needle aspirates for you.

We are working on becoming a Fear Free certified practice and would pay to have you go through the Fear Free training. We like to have animals participate in their own medical care when possible. We really work hard to try to alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets. We want them to like coming to see us.

**Responsibilities**:
**_ Major Duties:_**
- Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for in-patient medical care
- administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
- Anesthesia/Surgery - Our Veterinary Technician's prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilize anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.
- Dentistry
- Our Veterinary Technician's provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery.
- Laboratory duties
- Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for collecting, preparing, & running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated (fecals, Urines, Ear cytology etc) when requested by doctor.
- Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools
- Client communication for hospitalized patients - give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.
- Client medical demonstrations / education - teach/educate clients on at home care procedures.
- Veterinary Technician appointments
- blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals, AG, TNT.
- Clinic technician
- assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam room, check patients in and out, take history and vitals, input data into patient medical record, ensure a smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.
- Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed
- answering phones, booking appointments, admit/discharge patients.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
- Assist with inventory control - informing inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies.
- Preparing prescriptions - dispensed medications & medication refills.
