**Packaging Machine Operator I - 1st and 2nd shift position available - 4 day work week**
**1st shift (6:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday)**
**2nd shift (4:00pm - 2:00am Monday - Thursday)**
**SUMMARY**
The packaging machine operator will be responsible for safe operation of packaging machines while adhering to production schedules and quality standards.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Include the following as described in this section other duties may be assigned.
-Operate packaging lines to ensure quality standards of end products and minimize waste
-Fill cartons with packaged product after visual inspection and lot code check
-Record inspection and/or test results hourly in compliance with product specifications and complete required documentation
-Inspect raw material and packaging components for defects
-Test finished product for leaks, quality seals and accurate labels
-Utilize company specific production and communication software programs
-Maintain work area and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness
-Observe all safety rules and perform duties in a safe manner
-Others tasks as assigned by supervisor

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or related area.
**LANGUAGE SKILLS**
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
