Packaging Machine Operator I - 1st and 2nd shift position available - 4 day work week

1st shift (6:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday)

2nd shift (4:00pm - 2:00am Monday - Thursday)

SUMMARY

The packaging machine operator will be responsible for safe operation of packaging machines while adhering to production schedules and quality standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following as described in this section other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate packaging lines to ensure quality standards of end products and minimize waste
  • Fill cartons with packaged product after visual inspection and lot code check
  • Record inspection and/or test results hourly in compliance with product specifications and complete required documentation
  • Inspect raw material and packaging components for defects
  • Test finished product for leaks, quality seals and accurate labels
  • Utilize company specific production and communication software programs
  • Maintain work area and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness
  • Observe all safety rules and perform duties in a safe manner
  • Others tasks as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or related area.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
