**Summary**: Program Director will maximize employment performance and production of staff by supervising, evaluating, coaching, appraising employment results, providing support, monitoring time and attendance, scheduling, and assisting staff at the JHP, Incorporated: Prince George's House Men's Shelter.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise case management and residential counselor staff and coordinate volunteer corps
- Meet requirements of contracts and other funding sources by insuring that required outcomes are achieved
- Submit required reports and other documentation
- Maintain facility operations by assisting administrative staff in the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures for the facility that is consistent with the agency's mission and vision
- Assure proper documentation services and progress of program residents
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures, participating in quality reviews, and reporting changes
- Comply with Federal, State, and County legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising administration on needed actions
- Maintain and update case files
- Input statistics, demographics, and other data into HMIS database
- Maintain current and accurate documentation of services provided to residents via the HMIS Database, and assist case management staff in completing accurate case records
- Provide crisis intervention to individuals facing emergencies related to basic needs such as food, shelter, medical needs, and any other concrete need as presented by the resident
- Guide case management staff, providing adequate training and individual coaching
- Develop and maintain working relationships with community resources such as area shelters, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, food pantries, low income housing providers, and other social services agencies
- Provide leadership and maintain open lines of communication with team members
- Make timely and accurate decisions in emergency and/or crisis situations with particular awareness of need for safety of all participants involved
- Attend and actively participate in Agency and Prince George’s County meetings, activities and problem solving endeavors, and contributes to open lines of communication within the team
- Other duties, as assigned by Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science is mandatory; degree in human service field is preferred
- Managerial experience and relevant direct program experience required
- High cultural competence with experience serving diverse populations from under-resourced communities
- Effective coaching support that enables others to develop their skills rather than offering all of the answers
- Proven track record of effectively recruiting, training, and managing a culturally diverse staff to achieve programmatic excellence
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, creativity, and strong interpersonal and communication thinking a plus
- Proven ability to think strategically, yet analytically, and execute on multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience working with adults with chronic and severe mental illness
- Prior social service experience is mandatory
- Microsoft Office proficiency and the ability to use a database is essential
- Willing to arrive early and stay late, when necessary
- Must have an ability to handle crisis situations
- Reliability is a priority
- Great sense of humor is vital
- Criminal background check prior to employment
- CPR/First Aid Certified, or ability to receive certification prior to employment
- TB Clearance must be obtained prior to start date
- Ongoing drug tests are mandatory

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
